Why Sarkaria

Careful, personal representation from first call to landing.

Regulated practice

Every file is handled under a written retainer, with clear scope, fixed fees, and honest advice about your chances.

One point of contact

You work directly with the consultant handling your application โ€” not a call centre or a rotating case queue.

Prepared, not rushed

Complete, well-evidenced applications are the single biggest factor in approval. We do not submit until yours is ready.

  1. Are you licensed?

Yes, I'm a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). You can verify my licence directly on the CICC public register.

  2. What does a consultation cost?

Flat, transparent fees per service, shared with you upfront after our initial conversation. No hourly billing, no surprise line items on your invoice.

  3. How long does a typical case take?

It depends on the program. Express Entry PR is often 6โ€“12 months end to end; study and visitor visas are usually faster; family sponsorship averages 12โ€“18 months. I'll give you a realistic timeline at your assessment based on current IRCC processing times.

  4. Do you work with clients outside Ontario?

Absolutely. Because immigration is federally regulated, I work with clients across Canada and around the world. Consultations happen over Zoom or WhatsApp, and documents are exchanged securely online.

  5. What happens after I submit the pre-assessment?

I review your details personally and respond within one business day. If your case is a fit, we'll book a consultation call. If a stronger pathway or a different consultant would serve you better, I'll say so, it costs nothing to find out.

  6. Can you help if my application was refused?

Yes. Refusal reviews are a large part of my practice. I'll read your refusal letter, identify what went wrong (missed evidence, credibility concerns, program-fit issues), and prepare a stronger reapplication or reconsideration where appropriate.

  7. Do you handle LMIA files for employers?

Yes, I represent Canadian employers on LMIA applications end-to-end, from job posting compliance to LMIA submission and follow-up. I also advise on employer-specific work permits for the incoming worker.

  8. Is my information kept confidential?

Every file is handled under strict professional confidentiality. Documents are stored on encrypted, Canada-based servers, and only shared with IRCC or your designated representatives with your explicit consent.

  9. What if I'm not sure which program is right for me?

That's exactly what the pre-assessment is for. You share your background, I look at every applicable pathway, Express Entry, PNP, OINP, Family Class, Study, Work, and we discuss which is the strongest fit for your timeline and profile.

  10. Do I need a job offer in Canada to apply for permanent residence?

No. Express Entry's Federal Skilled Worker Program and most provincial nominee streams accept candidates without a Canadian job offer, though a valid job offer adds significant CRS points and can unlock dedicated streams. Study permits and visitor visas also do not require a job offer.

  11. What's the difference between a lawyer and an RCIC?

Both can legally represent you before IRCC. Immigration lawyers hold a law degree and bar membership and can also appear in Federal Court on judicial review. RCICs are regulated by the CICC and focus exclusively on immigration law. For non-litigation matters, an RCIC and a lawyer offer equivalent authority, often at a lower price point.

  12. How long does Permanent Residence take?

It depends on the program. Express Entry has an IRCC service standard of about six months from the date you submit a complete application after receiving an Invitation to Apply. Spousal sponsorship averages 10 to 14 months. Parent and Grandparent sponsorship can take 20 to 24 months. These are current benchmarks and shift with inventory volumes.

  13. Can I bring my spouse and children with me?

Yes. On a Permanent Residence application, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children are included as accompanying family members and receive status alongside you. On study and work permit applications, your spouse may qualify for an open work permit and children may study in Canadian schools during the authorised stay.

  14. What is a Super Visa and who can apply?

The Super Visa is a multi-entry temporary resident visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, valid up to 10 years with single visits of up to five years. It requires private medical insurance from a Canadian insurer, a signed invitation letter, and proof the host meets minimum income thresholds.

  15. Can I work in Canada while on a study permit?

Full-time students enrolled at a Designated Learning Institution can work up to the hours permitted by current IRCC rules, both on-campus and off-campus, without a separate work permit. Co-op and internship placements that are integral to the program may require a co-op work permit, which we apply for alongside the study permit.

  16. What happens if my application is refused?

You usually have options. A reconsideration request can be filed if there was an error on IRCC's part. A refusal review on substance can be addressed with a stronger reapplication that fixes the specific concerns in the refusal letter. For certain refusal categories, we can apply to the Federal Court for judicial review within strict timelines. I review your refusal letter and recommend the right path.
